A recognised industry expert in strategic sourcing and IT operations turnaround and improvement, Derek is Principal Partner and leads our work in IT services and sourcing optimisation. He has built an enviable reputation for repeatedly exceeding clients’ delivery expectations as well as ensuring the transference of knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable outcomes. He also boasts a hugely impressive track record for solving complex strategic problems quickly and implementing solutions that measurably boost return on IT investment.

Tim Hardcastle

A highly experienced Board level CIO/COO in FTSE 100 and 250 businesses, Tim has over 25 years experience of managing and leading IT strategy, technology-enabled business change and organisational re-design. His passion for professional excellence and determination to consistently exceed outcome expectations led him to develop a wholly new business and service model and co-found the unique business that is F2X.

Currently Group CEO, Tim specialises in strategic business and technology alignment to deliver transformational change.

Earlier in his career, as a Chartered Accountant and Management Consultant he held a variety of strategic business roles in the UK and New Zealand, the results of which have contributed to his significant expertise in finance and operational improvement.

Role and experience

  • Group CEO and co-founder of F2X Group
  • Expert in aligning technology strategy to business strategy and the downstream design and delivery of technology enabled change programmes including re engineering of technology supply chains to provide new capabilities
  • Strategic system evaluation , innovative architecture solutions, vendor strategies and organisational change expertise
  • Former CIO of Hiscox, responsible for developing IT strategy, implementing SOA approach for architectural deployment, introducing workflow and process improvements and re engineering the supply chain
  • Former COO of Agilisys a an £80m t/o leading outsourcing and BPO provider – delivering customer and operational improvements across accounts; establishing a UK wide delivery model supported by capability from India.
  • Former CIO Jarvis, leading first year recovery programme to bring oracle platform to an acceptable standard; part of recovery team (Costs reduced from £24m to run rate of £11m in 9 months).
  • Former CIO of AWG plc, running outsourced services (£75m p.a.) and 200 strong internal IT function. Member of Operating Board and AWS re-financing team.
